Redmoor-ELC Partnership & NHS England and Improvement General Practice Nurse Ten Point Plan Team Shortlisted Finalists For HSJ Partnership Awards 2021

Redmoor-ELC and the NHS England and Improvement General Practice Nurse Ten Point Plan Teams are delighted to announce that our work on ‘Spreading Video Group Clinics in Primary Care’ has been shortlisted for two categories: Best NHS Educational Programme and Most Effective Contribution to Clinical Redesign at the HSJ Partnership Awards 2021. The awards recognise ‘outstanding dedication to improving healthcare and effective collaboration with the NHS.’

Following the most testing period for the healthcare sector in recent history, this year’s awards shine a light on the essential role of private and third sector organisations in strengthening the healthcare system.

Being shortlisted for two HSJ Partnership Awards has renewed the Redmoor-ELC team’s confidence in the value of our worthwhile project and we are honoured that the benefits have been nationally recognised by these prestigious awards.

The judging panel comprised a diverse range of highly regarded figures across the NHS and wider healthcare sector. To be shortlisted as a finalist for these awards, despite tough competition from a pool of brilliant applications, is a mark of real achievement. The Video Group Clinic (VGC) Practice Development Programme, which Redmoor-ELC has jointly deploy over the last nine months with our NHS England and Improvement General Practice Nurse Ten Point Plan Team colleagues has been shortlisted based on the ambition and the positive impact that the project has had for both primary care teams and patients.

Marc Schmid and Georgina Craig, Redmoor-ELC Partnership Directors, comment:
“As pioneers of the development and roll-out of video group clinics (VGCs) across the UK, our focus this year has been on working in partnership with NHS England and Improvement’s General Practice Nurse Ten Point Plan Team to develop from scratch and provide robust technical support and comprehensive training to support the spread of VGCs to 500 primary care teams. This nomination is a tremendous boost for us all, and we are sure it will bolster close partnership working to further spread this innovative way of working for the benefit of clinical teams and their patients in England, Wales and beyond.”

Jason Westwood, Senior Project Manager for General Practice & Perceptions of Nursing Programmes, says:

“To have made the shortlist amongst the other incredible nominees is a wonderful achievement. We are delighted to be nominated for these two awards that recognise the value of collaborative partnership between the NHS and private sector organisations. The dedication of our collective teams and the positive relationship we have developed with Redmoor-ELC over several years have helped us to successfully implement the highly innovative VGC practice development programme for primary care in England at an extremely challenging time. Together we have progressed VGC practice in nine months further than it would have got in 2-3 years without COVID. NHSEI is committed to building on this strong foundation and making sure this programme creates a lasting legacy so that every clinical team that wants to, has the chance to run VGCs.”

HSJ editor Alastair McLellan comments:

“We would like to congratulate Redmoor-ELC and the NHS England and Improvement’s General Practice Nurse Ten Point Plan Team on being nominated in the categories of Best Educational Programme for the NHS and Most Effective Contribution to Clinical Redesign ahead of HSJ Partnership Awards 2021. We are looking forward to welcoming them to the ceremony in June, to join us in recognising the very best collaborations and innovations in the healthcare sector. This year’s finalists are of an outstanding calibre and all of them are exceptionally dedicated to enhancing healthcare across the UK.”

The winners will be selected following a rigorous, judging stage ahead of the HSJ Partnership Awards 2021 awards ceremony. The awards evening is expected to be attended by leaders and professionals from both the NHS and private sector as well as figures from non-clinical backgrounds to celebrate innovation and collaboration in healthcare.
