REDMOOR-ELC VIDEO GROUP CLINICS PROGRAMME FINALISTS IN NURSING TIMES WORKFORCE AWARDS 2021

We are delighted to announce that together with NHSE&I’s Nursing Directorate and Welsh Government, The Redmoor-ELC Partnership’s programme “Spreading Video Group Clinics in England and Wales” has been shortlisted for the ‘Best Use of Technology to Improve The Working Environment’ award in the Nursing Times Workforce Awards 2021.

The pandemic has changed the way clinicians deliver patient care and accelerated the spread and application of digital health technology. Our virtual video group clinics programme was developed at the start of the pandemic in March 2020 and delivered in partnership with NHS England and Improvement’s General Practice Nurse Ten Point Plan team between April and October 2020 and with the Welsh Government since November 2020 (to present day).

Redmoor-ELC Partnership Directors, Georgina Craig, and Marc Schmid, commented:

“Throughout the hugely difficult months of the on-going Covid-19 pandemic, the nursing workforce has been challenged like never before. Through this programme, we have learnt a lot about how to help the workforce succeed in delivering video group clinics, and this exciting new way of working has been adopted across a wide range of clinical disciplines. We are proud that primary care and specialist nurses across the country have been at the forefront and leading the switch to video group clinics. This person centred model resonates with their values and ensures they can maintain care and support for their vulnerable, shielding, and long-term condition patients.

It has been wonderful to witness the commitment to and enthusiasm of nurses for this transformative remote care model; and to see the benefits that video group clinics realise for the nursing workforce, including:  more effective and efficient use of their time; enabling flexible working, and restoring joy to remote clinical practice. Our NHS partners join us in thanking the nursing teams involved in the programme – and we wish our fellow finalists the best of luck. Well done all! “
