Video Group Virtual Consultations Helping Welsh NHS Clinicians And Patients
The Video Group Clinics programme across all three sectors of the NHS in Wales is designed to help maintain continuity of care and support for high risk patients in Wales. This person centred care pathway really empowers those with chronic long term health conditions, such as diabetes and asthma, helping to self-manage and make lifestyle changes.
During the Covid pandemic and current lockdown VGCs can play a vital role in helping reduce loneliness and anxiety, and building resilience and a sense of community.
Crucially, during the coming months when the NHS is busy rolling out the Covid Vaccines programme, they will make better use of clinicians’ time. Developing group virtual consultations across the health system in Wales will support flexible working for GPs, practice nurses, physios and outpatients’ teams, and community health professionals.
